Qualification update

Our AS/A Level Science provision is changing. New AS/A Level qualifications in Biology, Chemistry and Physics have been developed for first teaching from September 2015. To find out more visit our new qualification pages below.

Alternatively, you may be interested in our Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Laboratory Skills. Cambridge Technicals are vocational qualifications designed to give a work-focused alternative to A Levels.

Extends GCSE science and contains elements of biology, chemistry and physics, as well as earth science and environmental science. The specification is purpose-built for those candidates who wish to continue with a broad study of science beyond GCSE, but who choose not to specialise in the separate science disciplines.

Provides a balanced and coherent study of science.
Candidates can sit the exam for the first time in January of year 12.
The revised specification has less emphasis on recall and more on understanding and application.
